The following graphics cards are known to cause problems with PowerSHAPE and should not be used
Accel Eclipse
The Diamond Viper 550 card is known to cause problems
Laptops
There are no real problems with running PowerSHAPE or PowerMILL on a laptop, as long as you avoid a chipset which is known to cause problems, like the ACCEL. Stick to S3 or Matrox, and there should be no trouble. Bear in mind, though, that because there is no possibility of loading the machine with a really good graphics card (the graphics chips are built into the motherboard) the graphics performance will never be sparkling. As ever, the best advice is to get the fastest machine you can afford, with as much memory as possible. If you want to use the full version of the software, make sure you have the parallel port set up.
If in any doubt, try the machine first!
